Just some blathering!

I haven't posted in what seems ages, but it hasn't really been that long.

This old gal is once again among the working force - albeit part-time. The two days I work each week have proven to be good medicine for me. It's wonderfully exciting to feel productive and useful again! And, the money is almost beginning to match the length of the month!! Awesome!

I took part in a towel swap in one of the embroidery groups to which I belong. Have sent out the three towels to the ladies in my group, but haven't heard from them yet. Either they don't like them or they are busy getting their towels done to send to me!

Attended a CPR/First Aid class yesterday through the Alabama State Defense Force (ASDF). The class was invaluable to me - everyone should take the course whenever it is offered by the Red Cross or any other agency. However, I wasn't able to receive my CPR certification because I couldn't get down onto the floor to do CPR on one of the ugliest dummies I've ever seen! Will have to wait until doctor clears me for light activities before I can complete that portion of the class. Had a good time applying a pressure bandage and putting an arm in a sling on one of the unfortunate attendees who had me as a partner!

Will someone please tell me what happened to the month of October? I've either been busy or dizzy - can't determine which - for the time to get away from me so quickly.

Did learn, much to my disappointment, that another holiday season will come and go without any of my family able to be with me. They will be scattered to the four winds from Thanksgiving through the new year. Anyone got an extra turkey leg they wanna throw my way? Tee hee!!!!

I'm in the process of making some very nice patches which I hope to be able to sell to members of my company and others in the ASDF. Got three stitched up so far, but am falling behind on Christmas gifts I hope to get done for friends and family.

Going to the "bone" doctor on the 15th - hopefully he will tell me to get on with my life in a more normal manner! Still have lots of pain when I'm on my feet a lot, but that goes with the territory of being older than dirt, I believe! Doubt I will be able to wear my uniform boots, as they sometimes feel as if they weigh 50 pounds each! But, I've been permitted to attend meetings/drills in flat black shoes, which has helped me a lot.

One of these days, I will post a photo here of what I look like in my Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). It will give someone a laugh, I am sure!

Hope all is well with my blogging buddies.

Micky Finn has blathered a little bit!

Glad to see you back. Yes a part time job can be fun. This week I only have three days, total of eight and a half hours. But three hours at a time is about all I can stand, if I work four hours, my feet really start to hurt at the 3 1/2 hour mark. My feet like yours are as old as dirt. Ha!Ha!. I turned 69 several weeks ago.

By the way, I have this thing added to my blog called My Map, and I would like for my blogger friends to go there and sign in, you can even post a photo of yourself.

I think it will be a fun thing, this way we will know what our blogger friends look like and who we are writing to.

Have a good week. Hope you hear from the ladies and get your dish towels.

Sorry to hear your bones still need the bone doctor. And "Older than dirt!" You have to be joking there mickey_finn. If I were you I would ask them to put that ugly dummy on a table because I for one have no intention whatsoever of collapsing on any floor. I will make damn sure there is a table or a couch handy if and when I need CPR. :)
